Over a decade ago, at the very start of my own vocal journey, I was just like any other artist whom I am mentoring now… I felt distant from my dreams, my true voice was tucked away behind fear of being seen or heard. I felt like I couldn't express myself fully and I kept hitting roadblocks with my expression and being authentic in my life. I didn't call myself a vocalist, a singer, and much less an artist. I was at a loss to prioritize my self-care, creativity, and my heart.

Nearly 15 years later - I look back on all that I have experienced, thousands of shows, my life as a musician and a vocalist, all of the tours, people, places, connections, students, and this beautiful weaving of my life - and I am so grateful to have unearthed a version of me I knew was there waiting for me to reach out and take her hand. You do not need permission to sing and you do not have to shoot for fame to find meaning or success.
